River City Nature Park Loop
Popular for its exciting 36-hole disc golf course, the River City Nature Park Loop also offers plenty of opportunities for hikers to get up close and personal with some of DeBary’s breathtaking wildlife! A wide variety of birds inhabit the area, including bald eagles, eagles, and herons, making for an ideal birdwatching sanctuary. Additionally, clusters of Live Oak, Southern Magnolia, Cypress, Sweet Gum, and Slash Pine are interspersed throughout areas of open pasture.
This 1.2-mile loop trail is perfect for hikers of all skill levels and provides public access to the incredible St. Johns River – a local favorite! The city of DeBary plans to create a new outdoor conservation and recreation area in the form of a waterfront park, which will boast picnic shelters, a fishing pier, and a playground so be sure to stop by often to check out new developments.
Gemini Springs Park Trails
This local getaway is a popular destination for residents of DeBary and travelers alike. Accessible trails and family-friendly recreation spaces are abundant throughout the wilderness surrounding the two namesake springs, including miles of paved and unpaved trails that allow guests to make their own loops throughout extensive oak hammocks.
Approximately 6.5 million gallons of crystal-clear fresh water bubble up from the springs every day, which lends itself to the natural alure of such a wondrous landmark. This water rushes through a network of limestone channels to nourish the nearby cabbage palms with their humidity. The Gemini Springs originally attracted settlers to the area over 150 years ago and it still brings plenty of visitors to DeBary today.
